Get Paint Off An Iron Gate?

Germany Rail travel

As I once lost my faith in the German railway

I drive a lot by train through the area. Whether it be on vacation when I visit my family or friends or during school blocks when I go to boarding school and return. Now I have many years of runway use accustomed to that, even at shorter - Distance shorter mean in my case, 'only' two or three times change and a journey time of "only" four or five hours - at least one of the trains used by me any problem. It must not even in a lead late, the course is usually the case. But sometimes it's just a defective railcar is said, solved the problem quickly and it still comes on time on target. Whatever the case, I'm so used to it that there are no rides without any incidents. As I
in December last year which is a week wanted to spend holidays in Münster, I had of course it is set to be late, the train not being able to go to the bathroom or just not the car with my reserved seat to be found. All things, including the easy-to-rail travel. And what can I say, it was also all normal. Although I have not missed connecting train and arrived accordingly in Munster, but was on the way there but then the odd little incident.
was first on the way back then extremely curious.
At the beginning everything seemed to be normal. The train which I should leave, had been at the entrance of a delay Münster five minutes. So far so normal. But then the unbelievable happened. The delay was not developed, as is often the case, or at least maintained. No, she was again caught up and we arrived at the destination station.
Because that's not enough, however, was then the siding on time and showed no defect.
presented In retrospect, the question of whether I am possibly driven by a parallel dimension. I would not rule out, for as normal you can not call this ride really.

How my faith in the German Railway

regained Fortunately, the web could soon ensure that this remarkable incident was made up for it.
At Christmas I went briefly to my parents. In the long haul, the journey takes quite long anyway and because of the weather conditions, I listened to my boss that I suggested, but on 23 to go a little earlier and the last ferry schonmal to go to the mainland. I spent the night in the absence of places then on the night train at the station in Altona. I had already done once, but is all around Christmas but since then much more going on. Were also due to Many of the weather more people there who were waiting for their delayed train, which eventually showed up early against two clock. My train, the first of the day in my direction, was to go against five clock, so I spent time with and tried to read the face of two other people waiting not to run amok. But that's another story.
I made it so easily in my train, I finally had a long enough stay, and could even put in half an hour before the announced departure time. On the downhill I had to wait even longer, however. Problems at the engine made sure that with a half hour late, drove off. Since I had not change, that was not so bad. I just came later in Stuttgart and could simply take the next train.
After a short but beautiful Christmas weekend, it should be on 26 go home. I had extra directly to the purchase of single tickets purchased for a way back. Also, I had not suggested by the lady at the travel office so booked that I should catch the ferry next to last, but still a connection used to choose, or be something because of the weather should be. To my
Happiness.
The weather was preparing Although none of the trains that I rode problems, but I won again but my full confidence in the ailing trains and rail lines.
Since Sunday morning at six clock still runs no train should I take a regional train to central station, where I would have had ten minutes to switch. But even this first train was exactly ten minutes late. Because of a defective railroad crossing. Of course, not waiting for an ICE to an RE, so some passengers stranded first in Stuttgart. The conductor ran through the train could only say to everyone that is probably nothing would with change. So we rushed to the information desk and let's say the next connection. Then it was
waiting for the train to Mannheim. He should soon be there, but he arrived with only five minutes late in Stuttgart, we could even expand on the way to a quarter of an hour. What I am not disturbed, but also has got, but that meant that I had to wait in Mannheim only half a mile to the port. Well, actually. The connecting train was namely, first because of a defective railcar announced a quarter of an hour late. Well, I thought to myself, then I wait but stop as long as first thought. Well, think again. The delay has been getting bigger and bigger, until the train then three quarters of an hour later than planned on the right track after all and actually import.
The biggest stress was that first pass, to Hamburg, we have now crossed a seat you could also get hold of - in spite of obsolete book at missed train - and so we were all quite comfortable. Was a good thing, because on the other Trip was delayed the next round twice by defective signal lights, we stopped once more to due to a defective switch and twice we had to wait outside the station until a track was free, because everyone was already occupied. At some point the train conductor came by all departments and distributed applications to payments due to a delay of over an hour.
In Hamburg, we were in effect one and a half hours late.
from Hamburg but I had to come to the ferry, and so we went to the NOB. Which was ready for leaving on the side track and the moment I sat on a place, they also drove really got going. The man who did not make it out in time, after he was employed on the train leave for too long moved, fortunately not the emergency brake, but only moved upon. But that could tarnish my mood no more, finally I was finally on the penultimate train and the chances were good that at least I could still get the second last ferry.
I thought. Until then through said was that we would hold an unscheduled stop at each poplig that existed on the track. We gathered again diligently delay minutes and came just in time in Dagebüll that I grabbed the NEG to investors, and could thus take the last ferry that went on that day.
All that stress, which is due to the uncertainty of whether I came back still on the island, had collected fell from me as soon as I set foot on the ferry. Since it could not disturb me too great that it was the terrible new ferry with the uncomfortable seats, to steep, narrow stairs and no lower hall. The fact that we have waited for another train, which was also late, was I do not care. I was on the ferry, So I would still come home. A few hours later than planned, but at least I did not have to stay on the mainland.
This was so the weirdness on the way home from Muenster definitely made up for it. The train had not suddenly changed and you could still rely on that you could count on nothing.

How I fell from the faith of the German Railway

But all that has made the path through this random walk well again, she was shortly afterwards lightly risk. The request for refund due to I had the same long delay on 27 December sent. Half of the ticket price and I could recover the additional lapsed seat reservation, of 4.50 € was not exactly cheap. In addition to the request I had sent all necessary action, namely the ticket and the reservation. I had not made any copies, which was too much effort.
Once that was done, I had expected to hear at some time in some months time from the web and may not recover. But since I was very wrong.
Only a month later, on 27 January, I had mail in the mailbox from the web. My first thought was of course not 'Oh, they have been through my application. " No. My first thought was 'The rail card comes early this year but'.
When I opened the envelope and held the letter in his hands, I was absolutely flabbergasted. The application had been processed, it was there. The money was transferred, it was said. I read the letter several times, but the text did not change. Since only half an eye on my balance. And indeed. The half fare and the expenses for the reserved space had been reimbursed.
And the Deutsche Bahn.

out what the German Railways to regain my confidence

meantime, I leave again and as usual I went to Swabia. First, to my grandma in Lörrach. And what can I say? The track does its best to act normally again. I was concerned that chaos is not, but it was enough that I felt restored to normalcy.
The trip to Hamburg was quite normal - as with the NOB is usually the case - and so I could some time in the newsstand rumwühlen, drove up to my train to Basel. The exhibit was again no technical damage, but chaos was still donated. The announcement 'of the thirteen in the car, the car Zugmitte nine' not only brought me laugh. Namely, there were two cars with the number thirteen. And the other cars were with some people for seat reservation confusing. They had the right car number, but other seat progressions, and nowhere was shown who had booked out. This was repaired in the course of the journey yet. I was fortunately in a car in which everything was displayed electronically, so that I could not find a reserved space, without having to wait until the train crew had sorted the reservation and placed correctly.

The drive from my granny to my parents was relatively free of interference, just the usual small delay. But I'm curious to return to Dagebüll because I spend so again twelve hours in the train and who knows what's going on again interesting.
