Books 2010 - a kind of hell of a long list
; Although I actually had less free time than last year, I read in 2010 even more. For that I less then watched movies and spent less time in forums. As much as I'm reading, I must say that I am slightly tired but then towards the end, but the addiction would not let me stop until the year was over (the last book I actually have a few minutes before midnight on New Year's finished xD)
But this year I have not even started and no book, although I have some interesting are back here. But I'm still over-saturated, and must be the first time to digest everything ready before I can start again.
January 1st The Rotoffels and the Beast (Catherine cooling)
A first reading book I had as a child once borrowed from the library. A few more years, it occurred to me again, and end of 09 times I've actually found a copy of which was for sale. The
Rotoffels, which are small, potato-like tuber being without legs, but instead equipped with a lot of hands and eyes. As the name suggests, they are also red. The great family of which the story is alive, quite undisturbed in the woods, and sat through all sorts of what is normal for them. They collect acorns, so the Rotoffelmama can wash them take advantage of excellent food, never, because the dirt by their mode of locomotion (they roll) in any case falls right back and play various games. In between, they still receive relatives visit from the snooty spin Offele (thin potato creature with long, spidery arms) which they eat up all the food supplies, this place at all that nagging, and finally move off again, after not a single acorn is left. The
Rotoffelkinder set off, therefore, to gather more supplies, and take it to a terrible monster. Barely escaped to tell them it home, and always sleeping grandfather told unintelligible between his nap by a means to turn invisible. With dandelions go from here, but no one has a recipe. From then boiled Mama Rotoffel So anything from dandelion, no child should get out alone, and it is desperately trying to wake the great-grandfather again.
Even at my age, I liked the book even as before already. Written funny, offers exciting episodes, and the solution at the end is nice too ^ ^
second Uncle Montague's tales of horror (Chris Priestley)
Before it was published in German, we are a reading copy in the store. The cover caught my equal to - illustrations by David Roberts, whose pictures I liked even by Philip Ardagh Eddie Dickens trilogy - and the synopsis sounded tempting.
It is scary to food, as I have also read as a child. The first and last chapter consists of basic story: Edgar visited in his holidays always happy Uncle Montague, who lives in a big house with servants Franz. Edgar always there listening like the horror stories told by his great-uncle to him. Each story is based on an object which Montague has displayed in his office.
The stories are short, sometimes brutal, sometimes subtly creepy. At the end of each chapter to go Edgar Montague and a few words about the story.
I found the book so successful that I have ordered directly after reading the English edition of See also paragraph 37 ^ ^
third Sperm & Egg - a love story (Ryan Boudinot)
When I typed my books list, I was surprised to find the track on it. The book had in fact adopted really completely out of my memory. What's not to say that it was bad. On a bad book, I could remember better safe because I would have annoyed me, having read it, but somehow this was so mediocre and uninteresting that I was not even on the basis of Title could remember the story. Short
future reference of the content then ensures the very weak memory.
It's about Kat and Cedar, who went to school together. Years later, Kat is a writer, Cedar and asks for his permission to publish her latest book as to be able to because he is playing a major role.
The only Amazon review this: click
4th Codeword Risk: The Night of the Vampire (Michael Borlik)
risk of code words I had already read a book last year, albeit from a different author. The story here is after the other but nothing. Featuring the book again with hard questions at the end of a chapter and info boxes on the topic.
also some exciting reading fare for beginning readers, or read bad reason students would be deterred by too small a font.
5th Mirror Cape - had caught in the realm of the images (Mike Wilks)
2008 I read this first part of a trilogy already. So I then took so long until I've risen once part two, I wanted to refresh my memory again.
goes to content's as long: click
the second reading, I found it still as good as the first time, my brother and I have been infected and so
6th Mirror Cape - hazard from the realm of the images (Mike Wilks)
the sequel. Ludo, it is now well again and Wren was taken as the first female apprentice. The villains from part one were exiled to Cape Mirror and really could not everything be better. After all, should Mel, Ludo and Wren even help to shape the ceiling in the palace of the mind.
As there Mel overhears a conversation in which there is apparently a conspiracy, the three friends experience but again a lot. Ambrosius Blenk Mels Belauschnis want to know anything and thinks he has probably interrogated, or exaggeration, and so will the children had no choice but to do it again themselves to work. Together they find out who is behind the bad idea to get chimeras from the images in the real world, and travel back through many different works. At Bizarrilität it surpasses even the previous, because more imagery to be explored. Among other things, they learn to "Nowhere" know, a bleak, gray landscape, where apparently no one is on the way - only the footprints are evidence of life. There they encounter the thief "Magpie" for the it is still important. Furthermore, they get to "Nephonia, take a cloud world, where they on a cloud-maker and also learn about Morpho-King M, which consists entirely of insects. Of course you also meet some old acquaintances villains, which turns out very interesting - so Mel accidentally ends up in the middle of Groot's thoughts, which is not really nice is.
When the third volume comes out, I will definitely read the first two again to get back reinzufinden. They are definitely good enough. There
Part 1 is already in paperback, Part 2 will follow in February, in case anyone is interested, but not want to spend as much
February 7th The labyrinth of words (Marie-Sabine Roger)
One of the best books I have read 2010th
Germain is a slightly under-exposed big guy who lives with over 40 years with his mother. One day, when he wants to include his "pigeons in the park, sits an old lady on his bench. The two start talking and gradually they become friends. Margueritte talks normally with him, he reads from several popular books before (the start makes Camus Plague) and to listen to him when he has something to say. Eventually, she gives him a dictionary, by which you can virtually travel '. Finally, every word out again to another. After a while he even begins to read, so his buddy, which it only as the illiterate simpletons know, very amazed.
is now the book has film, starring Gérard Depardieu in the lead role. If the movie is even half as good as the book he'll like it.

8th Tell no one [No One] (Harlan Coben)
Eight years ago, that Dr. David Beck and his wife were attacked by a serial killer. His wife disappeared without a trace, Beck himself was left for dead.
Now he gets a sudden a mysterious e-mail, their contents show that his wife is still alive. Of course he wants to find them, but other people want to prevent just that. So he gets into a not so good location, will soon be even suspected by the police and hunted, also has a rich, influential family in the neck, which apparently wants to get rid of him and must therefore spend a favor to a shady gangsters he owes.
I must say that I have forgotten exactly how the story ends. It was always exciting, but not really innovative. If the book is not rumgelegen with my stepmother, I would certainly not read. Waste of time, it was not, but there are better Thriller out there
9th Salvador and the Club of outrageous requests (Alberto Torres Blandina)
A nice little book full of short anecdotes that are sometimes taken up again in later chapters. Salvador is a cleaner in an airport, and thus gets all kinds of what he says then various people. The most interesting point is probably the narrative. As a reader, one feels a little, as we eavesdrop Salvador and not closer to each specific party, where one hears only Salvador. Meaning, it reads a bit like a telephone conversation after another xD
10th Wild Ride Through the Night (Walter Moers)
in January after one has put up the forum a thread about this, I feel like right, the read again. When I leave, I had finally got the book back between the fingers - my brother had to be borrowed together with all other Moers novels.
Although the story here not even play in Zamonien, Moers build another one of many bizarre moments that can only please me. The idea to take some pictures and to write a story that I think was done particularly well implemented
I was speaking of the horse and the Virgin I also freed class
11th The sticking point (Mark Haddon)
George Hall is retiring, and around it goes around all down the drain. His wife has an affair with his former colleagues, he then caught even with his wife in his own bed. Son Jamie is gay, and has just a few relationship issues that are no better than he fails to invite his friend Tony to the wedding of his sister. This wedding in turn also means a hassle for everyone. Finally, it was Katie's first husband was already a disaster and Ray, it is new, no one really accepted. Katie itself is not even sure if she loves him now, or just want to marry him because he was so wonderful cope with her son is.
midst of all the chaos George slowly losing his mind and unnoticed, a harmless eczema holds for cancer and slipping into a depression, which he holds of course as much as possible secret - one wants anyone to harass. The
Kuzbeschreibung on here sums up the whole aptly: "The way these damaged people fall apart - and come together - as a family is the true subject of Mark Haddon's disturbing yet very funny portrait of a dignified one trying to go insane politely. "
When I read it, it was not long until I was through. Written funny and exciting in terms of individual storylines. Some may find the book is not good because it is so different than "Super Good Days or The strange world of Christopher Boone," I can not understand now. Just because it comes from the same authors, but the content must not be similar, and that the story not so mad now offers a lot of depth, I find not bad. A book I will eventually talk, and has "The sticking point" made it really good ^ ^
12th Jacob the Super Kicker (Rüdiger Bertram)
Yet another first reading book. Jacob loves to play football, and when he moves to a top club is a dream come true. Unfortunately, he makes life difficult for strikers Tom. The first game of course everything will be fine, because Jacob can now show what it can do.
Nice story, in large print for beginning readers and football fans. Meanwhile, there is a sequel.
13th but can be anyone he wants (Kirsten Boie)
also intended for beginning readers. The teachers of two schools, who know from the study since To organize the students write each other letters. Although it initially looks, could not as a girl every girl and every boy to write a boy who appears in the distribution of the letters but everything to be working well.
Robin, who like to ride, like ballet, pink and finds great to get as a partner Alex. Alex likes football and has a pretty messy handwriting.
Robin is surprised by the strange So Alex, while Alex is surprised at the strange Robin.
When the classes are to visit each other is, of course clear why the other is not typical of their own sex, it makes friends but still on and everything will be fine.
for first graders Could be quite funny, although I can well imagine that the figure it out quickly what is going on ^ ^
14th Wolverine: Origin (Authors: Paul Jenkins, Bill Jemas, Joe Quesada, Illustrators: Adam Kubert, Richard Isanove)
Tjo, what can I say this big. Comics to read as I feel so hard, because the images will also be appreciated, and I slowed down the reading. Nevertheless, I introduce myself one or the other like to heart, and very rarely will even itself once bought something. So here. After I was in the cinema and the film was good then, I have done so more or less a blind purchase. The story is not what you get to see the movie. Instead, the child is treated in some detail, and we accompany you to the Logan Holzfällerdor. A couple of things that are both in the comic as addressed in the film are contradictory, or do not match exactly, but I like both versions ^ ^
The pictures are also really great. There is almost every single panel and a small painting differs are not stylistically from the covers.
15th Goddess of Heaven (Christopher Moore)
Tucker Case, the pilot was aware that I have made the foolish angel appeared, here for the first time. He flies the private plane of a very rich woman who is drunk and goes, one evening in the company of a prostitute into the cockpit starts to fly and of course, builds a crash landing, during which he also injured still really nasty.
When he is healthy enough to be discharged from the hospital, it must be quickly out of the dust out of trouble, and finds even a suspiciously lucrative Job on a small island. He has to fly only now and then a resident physician around, or even just pick up something, and it may be the remaining time to go over well.
that on the island of what is rotten, and the doctor is interested not only to supply the cannibals who live there medicine, Tucker realize then at some point. Together with Kimi, a transvestite, he has picked up on his journey, and his bat Roberto trying to figure out what has to hide the doctor. Besides, he must still grapple with the wife of the doctor who was the high priestess of the natives under their thumb, try not eaten by cannibals last unconverted become, and remain as clear in my head to be poking around in the not discovered by the guards, or caught from the mines on the beach.
As before all the books by Moore I also liked the good again. However, it is in places - especially in the description of the accident at the start to read really disgusting.
16th Mariella mermaid - the enchanted cup (Sue Mongredien)
time again what the first reader. The six-part series revolves around a girl needs that go with his parents to her grandmother to the sea. As a tourist destination because they think it would be great but that they had to leave their friends is, of course, stupid.
From Grandma gets her a necklace with a given piece of shell as a pendant, and suddenly everything is different at night. Mariella is a magical mermaid and experienced a lot in the underwater kingdom Aquaris. When she learns that an evil mermaid the mermaid that she met her shell necklaces stole, she sets out to look after, the magic to bring back to Aquaris.
Although the cover of the whole series look quite cheesy and girly, you should not be fooled . Let Of course, also happens pink glitter magic when Mario turns and so on, but the story is not really boring and uneventful. As an opponent then occurs even a giant squid and it gets really dangerous.
If you want to bring small children to read, that would be suitable in any case. (For boys, there is an alternative then the Beast Quest series, which runs on a similar pattern of content and currently has already fourteen volumes)
17th Football - and the world with kick (Andreas Schlüter, Irene Margil)
Although this is the third in a row, but can also be read well without prior knowledge.
Niklas played awfully like soccer, so he applied at once, as a U12-Wetmeisterschaft is organized and a team to be formed. Of course, he manages to be included and so the journey to Italy, England, Brazil, Spain, South Africa, Cameroon, Japan, Germany and Italy will compete against each other. One of the Italian players he already knows of a match (which was held in the second volume) and Niklas' lucky charm, a rubber Gecko is also included.
written Exciting and funny, one can recommend without hesitation football fans aged 8.
March 18th The day that I was cool (Juma Kliebenstein)
Martin is chubby, unathletic and contributes to it all, even a pair of glasses. The "Fabfive," the cool in his class pester him, therefore, where they can. Only when Karli is new to the school, Martin finally has an ally, for whose first appearance is so embarrassed that he has no chance to make friends with anyone else.
Auf dem Campingplatz Stella Luna and then they learn to know, the wildest girls far and wide, making music with their brothers and stumble then also of Luke, the cool of the "Fabfive" who actually are doing somewhere else leave should.
Juma Kliebenstein writes really funny, the story does not need a moral sledgehammer and the "evil" are just people with their own problems and uncertainties. From 10 to recommend, you can just as easily be read by girls and boys.
19th Top Secret 1 - The agent (Robert Muchamore)
James Choke is 11 years old, and did not necessarily easy. His mother is very overweight, almost never moves away from her chair, and forward from there, a small business. More precisely sends thieves targeted the mouth, and anxious to order basically anything you want. Her husband is an asshole and treated according to James bad. His little sister is also not better. In school, James
gets into trouble more often. As one classmate insulted his mother, he pushes her against the wall, it remains at a nail protruding hang and tear on the face. James flies so from the school.
Before he comes to confessing that his mother is also dead already, James enters the home and his sister has to stay with her stepfather. In home
is James soon discovered by someone who makes sure that he is recruited to CHERUB. A secret organization that works with MI5 and children formed as agents. Who charged as criminals eventually with the fact that the classmate of their own child installs bugs in the house, copied important documents or anything else does in that direction.
James Adams gets the new surname after his basic training and may break even on a mission. Terrorists are plotting to attack by viruses have.
If you look through only reads the summary, one could easily get the idea that the book is totally unrealistic and should be level action-adventure for boys. However, here lies more but behind it, the young agents are no mini-James Bond. Instead they are just well-trained, physically-challenged children who are undercover as normal children would be removed where they are needed. That the organization is secret, is also done and the bad guys know at the end do not now what was her fault, not to mention that the nice friends of their children after a while unfortunately have to move again, behind . Insert Linguistically
can be written simply read the books by younger, but as it is received but sometimes quite brutally, it is rather not for the faint-hearted.
20th The world as we know it (Susan Beth Pfeffer)
teenager Miranda lives with her mother and brothers in a small American town. As it is predicted that an asteroid impact into the moon, will they go, just like all others on the road to get the thing to look at. First, even cheered, finally saw the real from spectacular. But then some people a bit queasy. Because the moon is suddenly somehow so close. Or not?
overnight change many things, first slowly, now you can not ignore it anymore. The tide goes crazy, near the coast, there are floods. Volcanoes are active again, followed by clouds of ash. In addition, falls more and more from the stream. In the beginning there is the opportunity to search online death lists for relatives, but soon the Internet as well as the power is completely gone. The Post does a little bit longer, but each Day a little unreliable. Eating to Miranda and her family have bought stocks at the very beginning - on the run on the supermarkets at some point there was a full package prices per car. The mother has not let it take to get wool clothing - ugly, but warm. And what was Miranda at the beginning or embarrassing, they can soon be grateful when they do not freeze in winter.
An exciting dystopia. Because the whole story is written as a diary of Miranda, it seems all the better. We know as little as what's going on out there, that gets, such as contacts with other people less and less to be any fights only for himself, and suffers, as they have to eat less and less, and then also get sick. A few things that have bothered me in reading were, in retrospect really fit, just because it just from Miranda's point of view, written, and she just does not have all so many thoughts.
The end came suddenly, and fell a little to me personally a bit too positive, but it is also open enough that you can imagine that it just is not quite over.
21st I, Elias (Luca Bloom)
Elias is 15, not popular, not unpopular and still a virgin. That would be the summary. Especially not much has happened in the book, it's just to young people who go to school, partying, falling in love, bollocks and so on. Reads authentic, Elias is narrated beautifully ironic, and the end is just right.
Nice short read for in between.
22nd The silence after that (Katrina Stehle)
Sophia and Uli are twins, one heart and one mind, make it all together. Until they have eventually drifted apart. Uli no longer cares about them, depends to a clique of the Sophia no one knows. One day he has a fatal motorcycle accident, is more accurately thought that he deliberately drove into a wall.
The mother is depressed, the father is talking to anyone, Sophia's older sister feels to make a perfect world and Sophia itself (rightly) left alone. To somehow cope with the matter and Uli to be closer again, they searched his room and closes finally even his old gang.
what was the story, I have forgotten now, but it was good anyway.
23rd Top Secret 2 - hot Ware (Robert Muchamore)
James' second order leads him to Keith Moore, a big fish in the drug business. Together with three other young agents, as well as foster parents issuing adult he moved to the vicinity of Moore. There, they will make friends with his children, and bring as much about his business in experience. James soon manages to win Moore's confidence and is even used as a drug courier.
addition to the order will also have time for private matters that are not interesting to read. James must deal, among other things To learn that his best buddy and Mitagent Kyle is gay (except for what James has somehow noticed any fast xD) Another Mitagentin flies out of the program because it takes cocaine.
24th Alone in the Wilderness (Gary Paulsen)
Brian is child of divorce. He lives with his mother, his father, he does not see very often. Of course he's happy, then, as it is to be flown in a small private plane to his father. The new ax, which he has been given for the visit, he proudly wears on a belt, then it can start!. The pilot is a friendly guy who sometimes even Brian can drive myself, but then he suddenly collapses. Brian it is at this level, divert the plane from the trees and is lucky to have a lake, where he will attempt an emergency landing. The plane crashes into too steep, the cockpit windshield smashed, water penetrates and the machine slowly sinks. Brian manages to get out just yet and with luck to swim ashore.
When he has somewhat relaxed and the first distress under control, he begins to build a camp for the night.
in the forest alone, he experienced a lot. In part, he's lucky, then bad luck, but he always manages to survive. The encounter with a bear, he is without problems, an attacking and a defending one moose porcupine provide for setbacks, however.
A credible written adventure novel in which the main character is not all made it too easy.
that Brian will be displayed before the winter was, however, criticized by many readers, so Gary Paulsen wrote after the actual continuation of "The River" is a third part. "Brian's Winter" set shortly before its summer life, and introduces the story differently.
25th The river (Gary Paulsen)
Two years after Brian survived the plane crash and a few months in the wilderness, the media are finally tired of the story. But now there's no rest for him. Psychologists, and the life coach for the government want him to watch a reenactment of his situation, to bring soldiers closer to his abilities. After much consideration, he finally agrees and leaves with psychologist Derek settle on a lake in the woods. Stocks and too many tools denied Brian, because he knows when it is not with the food goes well, they are weak, and go to the emergency camp. Thus, the experiment would be invalid because the problem was not real.
Unfortunately, they both fall shortly after arriving in a violent storm, which damaged the radio and Derek gets hurt. From the plane Brian
has seen a river that flows through the lake more or less. Since it can issue no emergency, and it takes too long until the contact people have to assume that something is wrong (the last control message was already on the first, then Brian and Derek had a few Their rest days), Brian decides to build a raft, and Derek down the river down.
Much thinner than the first volume of the history but not become less exciting.
26th Colony (JA Henderson)
1980, USA, California, somewhere in the desert. A pregnant woman runs away with a young person in the car of the soldiers who were after just behind them. The car, the woman, the boy. All three come from a top-secret military research station on the desert floor. Only the woman, Louise and the boy, Dan survived the disaster, which occurred has occurred there. Both do not know why.
She takes him up to his house, where she sends him away.
1994th Louise lives with her children not to be found around in a trailer park. Another disaster is about to grow slowly.
2009, Scotland. Apathy Amazon Walton lives with her single mother, never very long in one place. On her 15th Birthday, she finally learns why. Her father is a mass murderer DB Salty and themselves with dangerous pathogens in itself, so several people are after her.
at the same time, Kirk Fallen Iceland. Gene, Poppy Millar and live with a few other children and their parents on a secluded Island. They are part of a project that is supposed to investigate only this small society that is largely self-catering on the island. That's not entirely true, remember the three young people soon and make an investigation.
These three levels of time, and the various people and places are gradually more and more intertwined until the end finally an overall picture emerges that is really successful. The narrative style makes it very interesting, so you always get back the necessary chunks of information, and can do some thinking to do so. The story itself is written very exciting invites you to follow the arguments , and has for my taste very fitting end. The characters are all interesting, from the sociopaths of line employees, young people who do not know what's going to obsessed researchers.
A really successful thriller for young people and adults. Younger the fingers should be rather more of it, but because it is very many deaths and much violence.
April 27th In the Shadow of the Red Moon (Michael Tesch)

The book has given me my friend, and it was a hit ^ ^
On the threshold of the stone located in the Bronze Age is a story about friendship and tolerance emerged that I have read a lot.

28 (J. H. Brennan.) Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency [The electric monk] (Douglas Adams)
Strictly speaking I have not read, and it was not an audio book, but a radio play. Which I liked for that reason alone, because Billy Boyd said a main role, and I love his Scottish accent

As so often when I have not read even a little, and as so often with it if it still is by Douglas Adams, I can no longer remember very well. What I know is that I - as yet all I read of Adam - was great and that I am the book also directly have not bought, so then at even read something more may hang. Dirk Gently
I already knew from the second novel I had read some time ago, and in the first story there are plenty of bizarre situations, you want to be mastered. Well worth reading for those who can laugh at a story that less interdependence, but more abstruse ideas poses ^ ^
29th An Unfinished Life (Jeannette Walls)
By Jeanette Walls I have already read the first novel "The Glass Castle," an autobiographical History, the earliest of their memory extended to the beginning as a writer.
Her second book is now by her grandmother, who grew up under circumstances no less interesting. Lily Casey was born on the West Texas ranch, there had to help out wherever it was only refused steadfastly to be a lady, and marry, and eventually moved as a teenager going on her own horse for a teacher to be. For many years it was never in one spot, she moved from school to minke minke school, ended up times in the city, worked in factories and smuggled alcohol, married a shady types, rode wild horses and the like.
A rich blend of biographical and fictional elements, with a very sympathetic protagonist.
30th Survival (SA Bodeen)
Eli lives in six years with his family in a bunker. When he was nine years old, the family has fled from a nuclear attack on the United States. The wealthy father had provided, leaving a comparatively luxurious bunker build, and inventories can create for several years. What Eli has not been processed to date: his twin brother Eddy and her grandmother have failed and stayed outside.
as Eli is now 15, are at once the food supply scarce and Eli are increasingly at odds with his father - who seems to have one or the other secret.
The story runs very quietly and is initially concentrating on the problems that arise close to each other by squatting over the years. Flashbacks to the time before the bunkers are scattered over again, and so from about the half of it will be more glaring.
spoiler
All in all, an exciting thriller-drama mix that you can do to keep quiet times.
31st The secret of Summer Stone - the fearless Four (Gitty Daneshvari)
Maddie extreme fear of all insects. So pronounced that they bee without clothing and insect repellent goes nowhere. Theo must always make sure that his family's doing well - as soon as he is out of sight, will be called and asked. Lulu has claustrophobia, and the versatile athlete Garrison afraid of water so that swimming career is impossible.

The author is indeed American, but the content of the book looks more typically British. The figures that appear there so could a book by Roald Dahl and Philip Ardagh be born, so are the bizarre part. An exciting and very funny story is quite short chapters told - as the titles are also all great. Above each chapter is "Everyone is afraid of something" followed by a phobia (technical term plus explanation)
I thought it was very successful and who exaggerated characters and black humor like, you can give the book a chance ^ ^
32nd The curious incident of the dog in the night time [Super Good Days or The strange world of Christopher Boone] (Mark Haddon)
Christopher is autistic and lives with his father. One day the neighbor's dog impaled with a pitchfork in the front yard and found Christopher Decides to establish. What he gets it by and by, however, has less to do with the dog than to himself and his family. All sorts of secrets are revealed, which can hardly cope Christopher. Finally, it is dramatic, and then all will be well.
Joa. Had read the book so ever in German, and was now in an English edition. That it is written from Christopher's point of view, it's interesting, but it can be annoying sometimes fairly.
After I now know of two books by Haddon, I can say: "The sticking point," I liked better. May well lie at the other humor.
33rd The wild Chick (Thomas Schmid)
Lilly, Bob and Very are the wild chickens. A band without a headquarters, and so without any adventurous experiences. But at least they have ever enemies: Ole, Little and Mitch, also known as the olm, which are the chicks rather ridiculous. But then the girls get
of sprat and other wild fowl given a treasure chest and suddenly roll over the events.
An old house boat would be perfect as a band quarters, a berth would be no problem. Only the owner is at right angles. When she then also the abused stealing dog complicates everything. But in times of need, the olm chicks are naturally in the wild and the happy ending is not far.
from the wild chickens I have read any book, but after all, seen two of the films. If it goes after that, the chicks are worthy replacements for young readers. Thomas Schmid ("Stupid hat!") Writes simple but exciting and unlike Mrs. Funke (I am told), the word "ironically" Neither does this overused
34. Shimmer (Ingrid Law)
Mississippi Beaumont called Mibs, will soon be thirteen. Usually, the thirteenth birthdays are celebrated in their family in the small circle as the children get at that age their "glow." The luster is a special gift. Grandpa Bomba, for example, can be created to move country, or just shake. Dollop grandmother has collected during his lifetime radio waves in jars. Mibs' big brother Rocket controlled electricity, fish may be it rain or storm and mother Jenny is in everything she does perfectly. Really in all. If she makes a mistake, correct
Before Mibs but her birthday, her father a victim of a car accident and is rushed to the hospital comatose. Jenny Rocket and drive there, MIBs and the other children stay with Grandpa and powered by Rose Mary Meeks, wife of the local parish priest.
creeps After a few minor annoyances Mibs in the bus representative of a Bible, hoping that he was going into the city where the hospital is because she hopes to be able to awaken her father. But Fish and Samson (her little brother) and the two pastors children Will and his sister Bobbi join her. The representative, she discovers Will and Bobbi noted that the Beaumont children are somehow different, and they are also still looking to be missing from the police. Among all the chaos Mibs finds out what exactly their luster, the kids are friends with each other on, and after a real odyssey, they end up still in the hospital.
happened in this very thin book a lot and that's all classes. Flashback to the late grandmother, the withdrawal from the school as soon as the thirteenth birthday is coming (after all the glitter could indeed be something dangerous), the despair, nothing to do for the father to can. Come over all authentic, the characters are mostly likeable. Basically, the Beaumonts are ordinary people. Or as the blurb says, like everyone else, that is something very special.
I'm glad in retrospect to have read the book, although the cover is not just appealing to me worked. (Where you at the latest after reading noted how fitting it is yet)
35th The Catcher in the Rye [The Catcher in the Rye] (JD Salinger)
The world is bad and Holden Caulfield us about it. Or so the content can be succinctly reflect.
The story is about two days (and nights), with always enough happening (or is told) that you do not get bored. Holden is once again expelled from school, and to wait instead of the Christmas holidays, or go home, he spends time in the city.
I read the book primarily because it is the favorite book of my girlfriend. I liked it anyway Holden me all the time remembered my brother who was at that age like it (and a bit of my friend who also twice as old nor can grumble about everything and everyone)
36. The Quigleys very large (Simon Mason)
The first part ("The Quigleys"), I have not read, but that is not important in the case. The Quigleys are a family of four, consisting of Dad, Mom, Will and Lucy. Fits to the books are also made up of four parts, so that each family member once played the leading role. In this volume, it is this:
dad has let slip Wills budgie, and is trying by all means to recapture him.
Mama has learned the wisdom teeth get, but for the school party she goes anyway. There, they could also have a lot of fun if your family not permanently would urge that they must protect themselves.
Will forgot his jacket in the school. Fortunately, the door is still open, and he goes in, but when he finally wants to go home, all outputs are completed.
Lucy "verkuppelt" on vacation all their family members with new friends, only it is initially left empty-handed.
There are now four volumes of the Quigleys, the third German to be published in June. The stories are entertaining and not just for the target audience (eight to nine years of primary school students) suitable
37th Uncle Montague's Tales of Terror [Uncle Montague's tales of horror] (Chris Priestley)
see paragraph 2, only this time in English. Linguistically not as easy as other English books, I know, which may be due probably to the many old-fashioned expressions should.
38th Kenny & the Dragon [Kenny and the Dragon] (Tony DiTerlizzi)
Kenny the Rabbit lives with his parents on a more isolated farm. He is a bookworm, a nerd, a nerd and so well with George, the local bookstore owner friends. As a A dragon on a field day his parents settle down, dares Kenny is there to even be considered the matter. Quickly realize that Graham is a pacifist fine spirit, and the two friends are at.
Too bad that the residents of Round Brook do not have dragons in their area and bring the king his best dragon slayer out of retirement to solve the problem.
When we had the German version in the store, I was very much raised the cover, because Toni DiTerlizzis drawing style suits me perfectly. The blurb sounded good, and as a classmate read that for English lessons, I did the same to me on loan.
Einmal folgt man Chief Inspector Mark Lapslie bei seinen Ermittlungen, dann wieder verfolgt man the history of the perpetrator.
pensioner Daisy Wilson is happy to have Violet Chambers a friend who cares about them - until she gives to Daisy one day a poisoned tea that they can die in agony.
Meanwhile, elsewhere will Lapslie, is on sick leave due to his synaesthesia, recalled to the service. The highly decomposed body of Violet Chambers was discovered by accident in a car accident. Missing it was active from anyone, all your accounts are still, the pension is consumed regularly and even her friends have sent postcards for Christmas yet. One might
assume that a thriller is more boring if you as readers know from the beginning, who is the perpetrator. But the culprit here, not the search is really interesting. Many more would like to know who Violet Chambers, now under the name Daisy Wilson way, is really (a prologue invites you to speculate on) and what drives them to do what she does. Moreover, it is also always nice to read, has the problems Lapslie by his illness.
The end was then also mean times beautiful, and I could imagine a film this wonderful ^ ^
